Scranton Enters Atlanta With A New Game Plan

Atlanta, Ga - Matt Scranton and his Tial Sport Pro Stock team will enter the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals with a brand new game plan. The Pro Stock rookie along with his race team learned a lot in only two qualifying passes in Houston.

After rain washed out Saturday’s qualifying at the recently completed O’Reilly Spring Nationals, Scranton learned the value of coming out of the box locked and loaded.

"Our original game plan was to come out and make a good baseline run down the track during the first round of qualifying" said Scranton. "You could say we were trying to sneak up on the tune up."

But after missing the cut in Houston, Scranton and his team plan to come out and make a pass right out of the box that will keep them in the show all weekend.

"Obviously the first order of business is to qualify and then turn our focus to eliminations. We are going to come out with the car set up to run as hard as possible during all of our qualifying sessions from now on. We don’t want a repeat of our Houston experience."

In only two national events the former sport compact driver has learned more than he could have imagined both on and off the race track.

"Greg Anderson gave me some advice after I ran in front of him during one of our qualifying passes in Gainesville. I did exactly what Greg told me and made the show on our next pass. I am amazed at how different this car is to drive from the Toyota I raced in Pro-RWD."

Scranton wants to thank his sponsors for their continued support of his racing effort.
